WHITEflag day
WHITEflag day is a dance production that explores the theme of freedom as a moment of shared power between people. One is willing to do anything for freedom. Even to die. The flag stands as a symbol for the right of all people to live in freedom and dignity today and for future generations. White Flag Day is an ethical and poetic manifesto in which the bodies and gazes of the dancers fill the air, crush it, shape it and materialize it. They allow themselves to be soothed by it while rejecting it, to move boldly in an environment where hearts and souls can live in unity. The people in an ensamble that is listening to eachother, can be a antithesis to mainstream attitudes in mutual trust and creative collaboration.
Inventing Freedom
A dance slapstick set in an alternative world where no one ever questions anything, where there are no opinions of your own, no thoughts or dreams of your own...just an all-ruling system. When a mysterious glitch in the matrix knocks the hero out of the system, the company can't believe it. Our hero seizes the opportunity to do the unthinkable - act free. However, the true freedom is not about what we can do, but about who we are. How does the hero use his freedom? Inventing Freedom is a story about people longing for recognition and fulfillment in life, for love, freedom and liberty. A story for those who follow the voice of their heart, make their own rules, and know that life is, in fact, much richer than it might seem on the surface.
Please note that strobe lights will be used in the production.
