Henryk Górecki's most famous musical work, Symphony of Sorrowful Songs, tells a story about a mother's fear of losing her child. This suggestive musical composition combines inner grief with hope and faith in a happy reunion. The production also feature Ad Matrem piece and a selection from the choral song cycle Broad Water by the same composer.
Based on Górecki's compositions, the story of a three-year-old boy who strays from his parents during a peaceful trip to the mountains unfolds. It gets dark and a dramatic search begins, involving the Mountain Rescue Service, a special police unit, a Volunteer Fire Fighter Corps, a huntsman and the rest of the village. How far can a boy travel alone in the wilderness? How will he behave when he reaches the bank of a deep stream? How many beers did Mr. Hunter have before setting out on his own to find the boy in his all-terrain vehicle? And if the humans fail in their search, will the spirits of the forest take care of the child? Don't worry, everything will be fine.
The production is loosely based on several real stories that happened in the Czech borderlands.
With participation of the orchestra of the Moravian Theatre Olomouc.
